An entire exciting new year is ahead of us and the possibilities are plentiful, much like the ever-seemingly endless flavour innovations of Smirnoff and it's rival ABSOLUT vodka .

Through creative brand architecture, packaging design, iconography and innovation, Smirnoff has become not only the No. 1 vodka, but also the world’s No. 1 spirit.

In addition to their ever-growing list, Smirnoff has launched 4 new scruptious flavours just in time for the holiday season!

Being a designer, traveller, adventurer and a creative cocktail maker (with an entrepreneurial spirit), I am utterly impressed by ABSOLUT's truly unique approach to their artistic design branding and clever, yet original advertising campaigns.
Enter the world of ABSOLUT - a mesmerising, circus-like splendour where the trend is to forever outdo in the stakes of eclecticism and obscurity (think Willy Wonka for adults).
Available in nearly any flavor you can possibly imagine and an array of varying designs (many of which are limited edition), there is one thing that will always remain the same; the iconic 'medicine bottle' design of the vodka bottle itself shining in all its decedent glory. Ladies and gentleman, I give you ABSOLUT.

In an effort to continuously push the envelope, ABSOLUT has created nearly 4 million absolutely unique bottles, as a one-of-a-kind work of art. In order to produce these bottles, 38 different colours were used, 51 pattern types were applied and ABSOLUT had to re-engineer its whole production process! Impressed yet?

As the New Year flows in...
May you soar ever higher...
Reach greater heights...

HApPy HoUr

Hey all, yep it's been a while I know. Disgraceful actually, as my last post was me coming back all guns blazing and then......crickets chirping for 5 weeks!

I have had a post I've been working since then, but it's one of  those kinda posts that is a bit.....exposing, as in probably waaaay to much info for you all. So I thought I'd use my Friday Happy hour post to get you tipsy and prepare you for  the one I've been chickening out from publishing.

In the mean time, I've chosen a good one from my pinterest Happy Hour board, pinned via Better Recipes.

Lime Sherbet Margaritas

Sounds simple enough....firstly, blend the sherbet with fresh
lime juice and a bit of powdered sugar, tequila and a splash
of triple sec.

1 pint lime sherbet
Juice of 2 limes
1/3 cup powdered sugar
8 ounces tequila
4 ounces triple sec
2 cups ice cubes

Put it all in blender, and blend until frothy. Enough for four -
(if you intend to share- hehe).

Happy Hour - The Frenchy

The Frenchy Via (my Fave):  Intoxicology
Simple, pretty and hits the spot!
  • 1 1/2 oz Pear Vodka
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Cranberry Juice
In a chilled glass filled with ice, add your vodka and pineapple juice. Top with a splash of cranberry juice
and your job is done - Cheers!    Follow Intoxicology on pinterest

Happy Hour- Glamour Drops

I thought I would spice up 'Happy Hour' and ask readers to share their favourite Happy
Hour recipe. The ever stylish Virginia Blue (Glamour Drops) agreed to spill the beans
on her secret weapon (recipe).

VB: Here is the recipe for the Mango Daiquiris which are a bit of a favourite with
our friends. They always (hopefully) ask if we will be having them at our summer/
autumn dinner parties. It is my own recipe - devised from when we lived in Darwin -
and only slightly adapted from the original. We used to make these by the bucket load
for our cocktail parties. No added ice! But the mangoes are frozen instead. Which also
means that we can have them all year around, if we are organised enough.

Thanks VB, for your Happy Hour recipe, no wonder your friends request them....mmm
sounds delicious! It seems as though there is a wild 1920's cocktail party going on at VB's
blog at this very moment! She must have made up a batch of  Mango Daiquiris.....
those girls are shaking up a storm! Check it out here  and have a GREAT weekend.

Happy Hour - Blue Ocean

Looks a bit like blue Gatorade, so it's fine to have strait after my afternoon run right?  Hey.....

It's Friday after all.

Excuse me while I get out of these

sweaty jogging clothes and slip on a caftan.

What you need: 1 oz. vodka , 1/2 oz. blue Curacao,

1/3 oz. grapefruit juice, 1-2 splashes simple syrup,

slice of orange and tropical flower to garnish.

*mixing instructions via Floridian Weddings*

Happy Friday peeps (slurp)

Ooops he did it again

I'm having a heap of fun (not) trying to work out my new MacBook. I hate having
to relearn and  re-customise a computer. I was happy with my last one but......
my 3 year old Son knocked a cup of water onto my laptop last Saturday, bringing
his tally of mass destruction to: 5 DVD players (including portable),  mobile
phones, 1 speaker and now my laptop! I'm actually amazed it lasted this long
really, there were a few keys missing, he ripped them off a year ago. Well, I've had
enough for the day, I'm going to mosey up to the Yacht club bar and order something
that looks like this Pink grapefruit margarita via there goes the cupcake

Happy Hour

Yippee! it's Friday, and this afternoon I'll be sipping on one of these
while watching the sun go down. Looks like the perfect drink for a
warn Spring afternoon don't you think?

2 oz Leblon Cachaca
1/2 Lime Juice
Agave Nectar to taste
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
