Decorating - Get it from the Garden

Love to add some life into your décor but find it a bit costly to keep your vases topped up

with fresh flowers? Just step out into your garden and you'll find all kinds of interesting

stems and flowers you could pop into vases or jars. By using single stems, it not only saves

your garden from constant pillage but also makes it a sculptural feature in its own right.

Stop and smell the flowers

I was getting chastised by the girl on our way to school this morning, as I kept stopping along the way to take some shots of all the amazing blooms that are everywhere. My favourite blooms are the ones produced by ginger plants, Heliconias and Orchids. The diversity of colours and shapes blow my mind, and the cut flowers stay fresh for ages. 

Tropical Garden Bounty

Now it's Spring here, my garden is starting to sprout all sorts of tropical

flowers and new glossy luscious leaves are unfolding everywhere. I can

start getting my flower arrangements from my own garden, which is great,

and will have some cash leftover from the farmers market.....umm maybe.

Yesterday, just after picking up my morning coffee, I felt it! You know, 

that smell, the hint of humidity in the warmer air, that spring feeling. 

Flowers are starting to bloom every ware, the Winter blues are fading away.
