Coastal Design comes to the City!

Apologies if things at Squeezed Daily have seemed a little quiet lately, It's been an uber busy last couple of weeks! After receiving a fabulous job offer to good to pass up and (without thinking twice) Squeezed Daily has relocated to the design capital of Australia and will be now reporting from the city of Melbourne!

With just a week to pack up, depart Sydney, find an apartment in Melbourne and start a new job on the Monday, it left little time to give Sydney the proper good bye it deserved. I did, however, manage to attend the much anticipated design social event of the season - the launch of the Coastal Design Co's first flagship showroom in Sydney!!

The renowned New Zealand luxury outdoor furniture company founded by Jo Eddington, has opened it's doors in the creative design precinct of Alexandria. The evening was attended by over 200 media celebrities such as Barry Du Bois and Joe Snell, stylists, suppliers, designers and friends attended the night of fine design, food and wine, which was hosted by Belle Magazine Editor-in-Chief Neale Whitaker.

Coastal California Cool Cafe - in London!

Looking for a little slice of California in London? Look no further than Hally's Cafe!

Hally's is the brainchild of owners Anna Halliday and Philip Beatty who are the master minds behind the Californian beach house concept. Located in the upmarket residential area of Parsons Green, this coastal cool themed cafe is your new go-to beachy escape right in the heart of London.

Stepping off the bustling high street and into the cafe's welcoming and cheerful atmosphere, patrons are instantly greeted by Hally's super friendly and smiling staff.

One would be forgiven for thinking they had just stumbled onto the famous Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice C.A, when in fact they have just been fortunate enough to find London's newest besk kept secret at no. 60 New Kings Road. 

Bringing a taste of the unexpected to both the tummy and the eyes, this puppy-friendly cafe guarantees a healthy, happy indulgence; offering a delicious menu of gourmet delights and the best flat white coffee around!

Chillaxed, bright and breezy, the interior by London design firm Alexander Waterworth Interiors is a refreshing change from London's usual high street cafes. Conveying a sense of contemporary rustic charm, the decor comprises of a carefully balanced blend of eco-concious, natural and reclaimed materials, along with beautifully contrasting finishes.

This irresistible little rustic-chic eatery is an absolute gem and is sure to become one of London's favourite summer hangouts. I went for brunch and ended up staying for lunch too - it's that cool!

Kings Park is the largest inner city park in the world and considered the soul of the city.

Rising steeply above the banks of the Swan River, it provides breath taking views of the city, the river and the Darling Ranges.

The park and botanical garden is ablaze with wildflowers, an expanse of native bush and towering scented gum trees spanning 400 hectares.

Just a little further down the river bank sits one of Perth’s major attractions, the iconic Bell Tower located at Barrack Square.

Deemed one of the largest musical instruments in the world, 12 of the 18 Swan bells originated from the St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square, London and were a gift to Perth to mark Australia’s bicentenary!

Barrack Square is a great place to hop on a boat and cruise to Perth’s closest wine region – the Swan Valley – or to the historic and vibrant port city of Fremantle.
